You don't have to do this alone

A community for mothers raising autistic children

MAKE hosts thoughtfully planned gatherings where mothers raising autistic children can connect with others who truly understand the journey.

These events create space for friendship, conversation, and support — an environment where mothers can step away from the daily demands of caregiving and simply be themselves.

MAKE creates spaces where mothers raising autistic children can connect, build friendships, access resources, and support one another through the unique challenges of the autism journey.

How MAKE Supports Mothers Raising Autistic Children

Community Gatherings

Within the MAKE community, mothers regularly share personal experiences, therapy recommendations, school insights, and resources that have helped their families navigate autism.

These conversations often become some of the most valuable parts of our gatherings, helping parents feel less alone while gaining practical support from others walking a similar path.

One of the most meaningful outcomes of MAKE gatherings is the friendships that form.

Many mothers attend their first event not knowing anyone — and leave having exchanged numbers, made plans to meet again, and found a community that understands their lives.

What began as a small gathering has grown into a thriving community across Arizona.

MAKE events have brought together hundreds of mothers raising autistic children — many of whom are meeting others who truly understand their experiences for the first time. Moms have traveled to Phoenix from all over the state, some driving 3+ hours one way, just to meet other moms that "get it".

Our Growing Impact

MAKE also hosts educational events that provide parents with practical information and resources to help them navigate the many challenges that can come with raising an autistic child.

These events may include guest speakers, expert panels, and discussions on topics such as:

  • therapies and services

  • communication supports like AAC

  • navigating school systems

  • special needs planning

  • mental health and caregiver wellbeing

By bringing together professionals and experienced parents, MAKE helps families access knowledge and guidance in a welcoming and supportive environment.
